Plan now to attend the 2019 Women of the Year Luncheon on Wednesday, May 22 in Kansas City, as Greater Missouri Leadership Foundation honors an outstanding Missouri woman leader as our 2019 Greater Missouri Leadership Woman of the Year.

Our 2019 Honoree is Jean Peters Baker.  Ms Baker is Jackson County’s prosecutor and has cemented a reputation during her tenure as a fearless and compassionate advocate of the victims of crime, especially the young and most vulnerable victims.

She is a champion of working with police and community leaders to confront the complex problem of violence.  Her focus as prosecutor has been to make Jackson County a safer and better place to live, work and raise a family.  Ms. Baker has set as an office goal to more closely connect the prosecutor’s office to the community and more smartly address and reduce crime, especially violent crime.

The luncheon, scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m. at Grand Street Café, 4740 Grand Avenue, in Kansas City, will feature Jean Peters Baker our speaker, as she is also honored for her extensive leadership experience, successes, and contributions.

This award is presented annually by the Greater Missouri Leadership Foundation to recognize prominent female citizens of Missouri who exemplify the Greater Missouri Woman who participates in the foundation’s annual Greater Missouri Leadership Challenge.

Sponsorships and reserved tables for 8 are available for the luncheon…you won’t want to miss this inspirational event!  This year’s luncheon is under the direction of co-chairs Jennifer Ingraham ’08 of UMKC Foundation and Roz Cochran ’13 of NeighborWorks America.  Proceeds of the luncheon will benefit the GMLF Scholarship Fund.
