Kate Sweeten, GMLC Class of 2022, was recently named to the Board of Directors for the Veterans Community Project.

Veterans Community Project (VCP) is a 501(c)(3) organization founded by a group of combat veterans in Kansas City, Missouri, who resolved to stand in the gaps of a broken system that left too many of their brothers and sisters behind. VCP has a long-term goal of eliminating Veteran homelessness nationwide. Using Kansas City as the blueprint for achieving similar successes in cities across the United States, Veterans Community Project has officially begun its expansion starting with Longmont, Colorado; St. Louis, Missouri; and Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

The Leadership Challenge Class of 2023 visited the Kansas City VCP project during Session II. Thank you, Kate, for your service to veterans in the Kansas City area.
