Congratulations to Carolyn Chrisman who was selected to the 40 Under 40 Class of 2021 by Development Counsellors International (DCI) at a virtual awards ceremony held in conjunction with the International Economic Development Council Leadership Summit. These 40 young professionals are channeling their diverse perspectives and skillsets to build strong, inclusive and forward thinking communities as the economic development industry faces challenges like never before. Carolyn serves as the Executive Director | K-REDI, MREIC, and SBDC.

Development Counsellors International (DCI) is the leader in travel marketing and economic development marketing, increasing visitors and business inquiries for destinations around the globe with offices in LA, NY, Denver, and Toronto Canada.

A selection committee of six professionals in the economic development industry independently reviewed and ranked nominees to determine the top 40 individuals under 40 years of age whose leadership, dedication and innovation have had a significant impact on their organizations, communities and the economic development industry itself.

Carolyn was recognized for her many attributes including her work on House Bill 220, which Carolyn’s organization lobbied and testified to get passed, keeps the property taxes generated by wind farms at the local level regardless of who owns them, meaning several million dollars each year go to local taxing districts like schools.
