Amber Bourek Slater has accepted the position of Volunteer Services Coordinator for the Johnson County Library. Amber will be managing about 1100 volunteers at 14 libraries throughout Johnson County. Her responsibilities will include volunteer recruitment, the development of new volunteer opportunities, and volunteer recognition programs.

She will be working with the Friends of Johnson County Library, as volunteers are a big part of their special events.   In fact, volunteers started the first Johnson County Library in the 1950s. The mission of the Johnson County Library is to provide access to information, experiences, and materials that support and enrich people’s lives.

Amber has been instrumental during planning for GMLC Session II during the past, and served as our very knowledgeable KC bus tour guide on multiple occasions.  She is GMLC 2015 alumna.

Congratulations Amber Bourek Slater!
