Congratulations to Jason and Carolyn Chrisman on their new addition to the family!  Violet Arlene Chrisman was born December 12, 2019.  Violet weighed 8lbs 3oz and was 21 3/4″. She joins an older sister and two older brothers.

Carolyn has been the Director of Kirksville REDI since 2012 and is the incoming President for the Board of Directors for the Greater Missouri Leadership Foundation, Inc. A native of Kirksville, she is well versed in all that the community has to offer. Carolyn is also the Executive Director of the Missouri Rural Enterprise and Innovation Center and she serves as the Center Director for the Small Business Technology Development Center. She spent several years teaching social studies in the public school district and served on the Kirksville City Council, Planning and Zoning Commission, and the Kirksville Downtown Improvement Committee.

Carolyn is a former President of the Kirksville Kiwanis Club and is a current member of the Kirksville Area Chamber of Commerce Board. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Truman State University and a Master’s Degree in History from the University of Missouri-St. Louis.

Last August she was appointed by Missouri Governor Mike Parson to the Missouri Women’s Council.
