Columbia College President Dr. Scott Dalrymple announced today the promotion of Dr. Piyusha Singh to Provost and Senior Vice President.
Singh joined Columbia College in June 2015 as the vice president of Online Learning before being promoted to Chief of Staff and then to Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. In this expanded role, she will lead the college’s academic initiatives including the in-seat, online and virtual experiences. Singh also oversees Student Affairs, the Department of Athletics, the Institutional Compliance Department, International Programs and the Office of the Registrar.
“Dr. Singh has made many important contributions to the College and is a fierce advocate for our students, faculty and staff,” said Dalrymple. “She is devoted to our mission, and during this time of crisis her expertise is even more invaluable as we navigate the challenges ahead of us.”
Singh, who is a founding member of the college’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee, holds a bachelor’s degree in biology and geography from Mount Holyoke College and a Ph.D. in public policy and management from Carnegie Mellon University.
“I am fortunate to be part of a team that is passionate about offering our students a quality educational experience in the safest way possible,” said Singh. “The opportunity to continue serving our college community is truly an honor.”
