Lathrop GPM Partner Emily Cantwell is Partner in Charge of the St. Louis office. The Partner in Charge serves as the firm’s representative in the office, including helping to communicate key initiatives, serving as a conduit between the firm and the lawyers in the office when necessary, and helping to promote office cohesion and morale through gatherings and office initiatives. Cantwell is the first female Partner in Charge of the firm’s St. Louis office.
Cantwell is a litigator whose practice focuses on business litigation, specifically in the areas of commercial, banking and real estate litigation and employment. She has been recognized for her legal prowess by the St. Louis Business Journal as a Most Influential Business Woman in 2019 and by St. Louis Small Business Monthly as a Best Attorney in 2020 and 2021. Cantwell was also named as a member of the 2021 Class of 40 Gators Under 40 by her alma mater, the University of Florida.

Cantwell takes the helm from Ben Keller, a partner in the Trusts, Estates & Legacy Planning Practice Group.
Cantwell is also co-chair of the firm’s Women’s Initiative Network and was a past President of the Clayton, Missouri Chamber of Commerce. She is a graduate of the GMLC Class of 2015, serves as a Board Member for GMLF, and works with the regional planning team for each session held in St. Louis. She also serves as a Board Member and Development Committee Chair with the Women’s Foundation of Greater St. Louis.
