As you may have seen during our live posting on Face Book, Jan Grossmann was presented with a $3,000 donation in her honor from donations made by 100% of the graduating Greater Missouri Leadership Challenge Class of 2019. The donation is dedicated to the newly created Jan Grossmann GMLC Scholarship Fund established by the Greater Missouri Leadership Foundation Board of Directors at their October Board meeting to honor Jan’s years of service to the organization. Intended to be provided to 7 applicants to coincide with Jan’s seven years as Executive Director, these partial scholarships will be made available each year as requests are made and as monies are available.

As Jan later told the board: “I also want to THANK YOU SO MUCH for creating the Jan Grossmann GMLC Scholarship!  That was quite a nice surprise and one that I cherish! THANK YOU!”.

It was fortunate how this all came together. Many of the participants in the Class of 2019 inquired about what they could do to honor Jan as they would be her last graduating class (and her favorite one as every graduating class is her favorite one!). When they learned of the creation of this dedicated fund, all agreed that would be the perfect way to show their gratitude and appreciation for Jan’s leadership and steadfast commitment to the organization over the past seven years. Because of her efforts, our annual traveling symposium bringing together women leaders from across Missouri is stronger than ever. Jan has ensured an effective and on-going Greater Missouri Leadership Challenge program through program development, execution of sessions, recruitment of individual participants and corporate sponsors, and alumnae development.

If you haven’t had a chanced to view the Face Book post, check it out.  You will feel the love jump off of the screen as you watch the presentation. The sound is not great, but the images tell the heart warming story. As expressed by one of the recent graduates “what an amazing woman and mentor Jan has been to so many female leaders in Missouri!”
