Meet our inaugural “Madame President ” Anne Morgan from Columbia.

Anne serves the University of Missouri as the Executive Director of Gift Planning in central advancement. In her work at Mizzou she is responsible for the successful solicitation of planned and major gifts, as well as leading the gift planning team. Her responsibilities include
marketing planned gifts, assisting major gift officers with complex gifts and agreements, assisting with estate settlement and endowments among other duties as assigned.

Anne has over 20 years of advancement experience in addition to her work as an attorney. She practiced law with McCarter and Greenley, LLC, St. Louis, MO. Her planned giving expertise has served organizations as diverse as Northern Arizona University, Saint Mary’s College in Notre Dame, Indiana, The Salvation Army and The Field Museum of Natural History before coming to Mizzou in February 2021.

A native of Indiana and a graduate of Purdue University, Anne earned her J.D. from Valparaiso University School of Law and her LL.M. in tax law from Washington University – St. Louis.

Anne’s hobbies include long distance hiking, travel, animals of all kinds, podcasts and a mild obsession with baking.

Ann has embraced this role and has issued a Challenge to the Class of 2023 by encouraging them to join her in making a gift to GMLF. “We all received the request to support the increasing cost pressures for GMLC. I want to rise to the challenge. I was planning to donate $100, but then thought, we are good at doing things together! Let’s see if we can get together for this. As an incentive, if we can get 75% participation from our class (any amount given at all, every dollar helps!) for this end of year giving opportunity, I will donate $500. If we get 100% participation, I will donate an additional $100.

“Madame President” is a new activity for GMLF in 2023.  The cohort  elected a president of their class prior to graduation during Session IV. The goal of this volunteer opportunity is to foster life-long opportunities for alumnae participation and networking through the planning of future GMLC events, programs and activities with GMLC members from their class.
