Kimberly (Kim) Martin (Class of 2022) has started work with the National Rural Telecommunications Cooperative. Kim will be working to help members deliver advanced technology solutions across rural America. Included in this new role she will be working with electric cooperatives building broadband networks to meet member needs. Kim had previously worked with the Missouri Development Finance Board serving as an interim acting executive director and working as a finance manager.
In coming months, NTCA-the Rural Broadband Association and the Fiber Broadband Association are rolling out version 3 of its Broadband Infrastructure Playbook with important updates covering Broadband Equity, Access and Deployment (BEAD) developments. An early module covers the concept of Extremely High Cost per Location Threshold (EHCT), in which states and territories report to the federal government how they will handle eligibility for non-fiber deployments.
We look forward to learning more about her role and the challenges that face rural communities. Best wishes for great success!
