Greater Missouri Leadership Foundation members have had a busy fall individually and collectively as you will read throughout this newsletter. My own list includes plenty of action. Keep reading to learn exciting details!

The Annual Campaign contributions keep rolling in. We have received contributions from many alumnae with whom we thought we had lost touch, and it has been gratifying to note their continued interest and financial support. And I am thrilled to report that we have 100% contribution from all of our 2019 board members. Their support amplifies their deep commitment to our success. If you would like to make a contribution and join our True Leaders Club before year’s end, you can do so here annual campaign

During our board retreat we voted to elect officers for the new year whose terms begin in January. We are honored to have a gifted group of women who have assumed or renewed this leadership role on our Executive Committee:

Carolyn Chrisman ’15, President

Roz Cochran ’13, Vice-President

Darline Mabins ’16, Secretary

Sarah Dubbert ’12, Treasurer

Kim Becking ’98, Immediate Past President

With this action we say goodbye to one whose service to the organization has gone above and beyond. Suzanne Rothwell ’04, will be rotating off of the board, having completed her two consecutive three-year terms, but she has agreed to step into a sustaining support position as a member of our Board of Advisors. Suzanne has shown so much dedication to Greater Missouri Leadership, having served twice as interim director and having helped recruit and train board members and Challengers during her tenure. We are excited that her passions will transition into this new role where she is sure to make further lasting contributions.

Over the next few months you will be learning more about our newest board members. Join me in welcoming Emily Cantwell ’15, Tia Drake ’16, Julia Gaines ’18, Gina Gervino ’16, Stephanie Johnson ’18, Amanda Kastler ’16, Cheryl Stuckmeyer ’16, Amy Schneider ’15, Joni Wickham ’18, and Loreli Wilson ’15. We are grateful for their willingness to help guide our organization as we further define and communicate the vision of where the foundation needs to go as we transition our staff and welcome a new class of Challengers.

Our 30th anniversary events have been widely successful.  We could not have had this success without the committee leaders and other volunteers who provided the expert planning and execution of these memorable events. Special thanks to Mara Cohara ’10 and Tammy Leslie ’11 for their work on the 2019 Alumnae Conference, and to Tina Olson ’10, Ann Merrifield ’18, and Stephanie Johnson ’18 for the Mid-Missouri celebration, and to Debi Boughton ’09 and Carolyn Chrisman ’15 and Dianne Western ’02 for the Kirksville celebration.

GMLC Session IV that takes place next week will expand Greater Missouri Leadership Challengers’ understanding of the issues faced by global businesses and provide an introduction to Missouri’s scientific and research contributions. This session is bittersweet as we graduate our 30th class. Special THANKS to our session planners, led by Session Chair Carolynne Huether ’15, and Amanda Barbieri ’18, Emily Brasel ’17, Kris Brumfield ’05, Emily Cantwell ’15, Tia Drake ’16, Tanya Hughes-Wilson ’18, Angie Miller ’16, Tonya Noble ’10, Lori Schneider ’16, Juli Shaw ’18, Stephanie Todd ’09, and Lizette Zardetto ’18.

And finally, while the 2020 class is nearly full, if you know of an exceptional woman leader, we recruit Challengers year-round. We can roll your friend or colleague into the 2021 class as this class fills up.
