Dr. Piyusha Singh (Class of 2017) has formally announced her career transition. After 9 years at Columbia College and 20+ years in Higher Ed, she is moving on. She says that “I loved my time at Columbia College, and had the opportunity to work with amazing staff, students and faculty. We did some really great things together, and I made some amazing friends. I came here with a 1 yr old and a 6 year old, who grew up thinking of Columbia College as their home. I will always be an ardent cheerleader for Columbia College.”
Following some down time and a trip to India, Piyusha will be serving as the Vice President of Business Intelligence and Strategy at Big Tree Medical . Big Tree Medical was founded in Columbia, Missouri in 2017 to bring innovative models of care, under-employed care providers, and under-cared for populations together. Their mission is to create a foundation for a new, patient-centered healthcare system.
Singh joined Columbia College in June 2015 as the vice president of Online Learning before being promoted to Chief of Staff and then to Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. In that role she has been leading the college’s academic initiatives including the in-seat, online and virtual experiences. Singh has also been overseeing Student Affairs, the Department of Athletics, the Institutional Compliance Department, International Programs and the Office of the Registrar. She is a founding member of the college’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee. She holds a bachelor’s degree in biology and geography from Mount Holyoke College and a Ph.D. in public policy and management from Carnegie Mellon University.
