Columbia, Mo. – July 25, 2022 – Commerce Bank announced today that Steve Sowers, formerly president & chief executive officer, Commerce Bank, Central Region has been promoted to senior regional director, chief executive officer, Missouri Community Markets. Sowers will continue to have responsibility for the bank’s Central Region and with his promotion will assume responsibility for the bank’s Southwest Region which includes Springfield, Nixa, Ozark, Republic, Willard, Branson, Joplin, Webb City, Lebanon, Bolivar and Cassville in Missouri and Pittsburg and Columbus in Kansas

Sowers’ expanded responsibilities come as Doug Neff, formerly chairman and chief executive officer of Commerce Bank, Southwest Region, is promoted to director, community markets with responsibility for community market strategy across Missouri, Kansas and Illinois. Sowers joined Commerce in 1997 and has led Commerce Bank’s activities in Commerce Bank’s Central Region since 2018.

Upon assuming his new role, Sowers promoted Sarah Dubbert to president of Commerce Bank, Columbia. In addition to leading the business banking team across Commerce’s Central Region, Dubbert assumes responsibility for the bank’s Columbia advisory board and community engagement efforts. She began her career at Commerce Bank in 2008 in Treasury Services. Dubbert earned a bachelors in secondary education from University of Missouri – Columbia and holds the Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) certificate. She serves as vice president of finance on the national council of Kappa Delta Sorority; treasurer on the Greater Missouri Leadership Foundation board; and on the boards of the Columbia Chamber of Commerce and Girls on the Run.
