The Women of Color STEM Conference, now in its 25th year, has been the venues where women and men from diverse backgrounds have come to recognize outstanding achievements in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), celebrate excellence in STEM-related fields, and create a career learning and networking environment.
Women of Color STEM Conference Announces 2020 Winners
Ahead of the upcoming annual conference, Career Communications Group recognizes women leading in STEM from around the nation for their work in the advancements of opportunity for minorities and technology.
Baltimore, M.D. July 1, 2020 – Each year the Women of Color STEM Conference gathers an audience of the nation’s respected leaders in science, technology, engineering, math, and medicine (STEMM) from Fortune 500 companies to government entities and colleges and universities to recognize the achievements of women from diverse backgrounds who create innovation and inspiration. This year, 41 women will be recognized for their notable achievements across several categories.
RADM Sylvia Trent-Adams, PhD, RN, FAAN will be recognized with the prestigious Technologist of the Year award. Other notable award recipients include Adrienne Somerville of the Naval Air Systems Command who will be receiving the President’s Award that evening.
Additional award categories include career achievement in government and industry, community service, corporate and managerial leadership, educational leadership, new media and IT, and technological contributions. Celebrating 25 years in 2020, the Women of Color STEM Conference will take place October 8-10, 2020.
